Our Wedding

We traveled through life long before we ever met, raising families, overcoming challenges, and surviving everything life placed in our path. We endured the heartbreak of losing mothers, fathers, and siblings. Grief visited us more times than we ever expected, yet we made it through because God is faithful.Through it all, spiritual growth and God’s calling individually kept us covered under His mighty hand. And then, on that appointed day, our paths crossed at church. What began as simple conversations, long talks by phone, day and night, quickly became something deeper.Our first date was a church banquet where Emmett delivered a powerful message. Afterward, we slipped away to a small restaurant tucked in the back corner of Vacaville because he wanted “cabbage balls.” We talked for hours, long enough to close the restaurant down. Just a simple hug at the end of the night, respectfully not even a kiss, yet still we knew… this is for life.Months passed with more date nights, all-day FaceTime calls, and more “cabbage balls,” especially during the Daniel Fast. We prayed together, studied together, discussed the Word, and even had some heated debates. We joked about our future married life and even imagined our wedding day. With our children and grandchildren combined, we already had the perfect bridal party.And now, here we are planning, preparing, and waiting with joyful anticipation for Saturday, September 12th. We praise God that He saved him for me, and me for him. May our lives together be a living display of God’s glory.Isaiah 40:31But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
